Perfect Dark Will be Announced at The Game Awards – Rumor

According to the latest rumors, Perfect Dark is right now in development at The Initiative. The game is a third-person stealth game and is planned to release on episodic chapters. The game will be revealed at this year’s The Game Awards.

The anonymous user on 4chan affirms that similarly to Netflix’s Black Mirror, the upcoming Perfect Dark game will feature standalone stories set in the same universe. The game will also feature an optional co-op mode, and it should play like most Splinter Cell games.

The leaker also affirms that The Initiative will reveal the game with a trailer that features Kayne West’s No Church in the Wild. Volume One of Perfect Dark will launch in the following weeks.

As with all rumors and leaks, readers should take all the information with a grain of salt, being said this, there are also rumors that Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards will also see the announcement of Silent Hill’s reboot and the second Remake of Metal Gear Solid.

Back in June 2020, the Creative Director at Xbox Game Studios, Ken Lobb followed a new Twitter account called @PerfectDarkGame a placeholder account for an upcoming Perfect Dark game.

Since the launch of Perfect Dark Zero, Rare has not produced a new game in the franchise, fans only got a remastered version of the original game in 2010. The beginning of a new decade led fans to the hype and speculate the possibility for Rare to make their return to the franchise. The original game is set in 2023, fans are now wondering if Ken Lobb is teasing an announcement in the following weeks.

The original Perfect Dark launched back in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, it was developed by Rare, a studio that worked closely for Nintendo with titles like Goldeneye 64, Donkey Kong 64. The game is considered one of the best games of the Nintendo 64, the franchise was followed with some spin-offs on GameBoy Color. In 2005, a prequel called  Perfect Dark Zero was well received, but did couldn’t live up to the hype of the original.

Perfect Dark takes players on the role of Joanna Dark, an agent of the Carrington Institute Research Centre, she is tasked to stop an extraterrestrial invasion by rival corporation dataDyne. The game follows the same formula as the previous FPS title from Rare, Goldeneye 64.
