Head of Xbox Marketing UK and Xbox On presenter, Samuel Bateman answered the comment of an understandably impatient Xbox fan.

I do find it a bit crazy that nether Xbox or Playstation have revealed prices yet when the consoles are about 2 months away. Is evident that the only response from Xbox UK to fans is “We’ll let you all know when we’re ready”.

“If I could tell you I would. Like I said, when we’re ready, we’ll tell you.” Adds Bateman to other Twitter users that like the most, do not understand Microsoft’s marketing strategy for the Xbox Series X.

The price reveal of Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Sony PlayStation is something that has been kept with heavy secrecy, this might suggest that both companies might have not decided the price of their respective next-gen console.

Most analysts have predicted that fans will need to spend around USD 500 to acquire a next-gen console, there is also the possibility that there is a cat-and-mouse strategy in which Xbox is waiting for PlayStation to announce the price reveal of PS5 just to announce and reveal Xbox Series S, a console capable of next-gen gaming and rumored to be sold around USD 499. It’s is also speculated that is in fact, PlayStation who is waiting for team green to announce Series X price to determine the best price for PS5.

Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, forecast that the next-gen Xbox will cost 400 USD at launch, PlayStation is aiming at a 500 USD price.

“From what I’ve seen, Sony’s gonna have to charge $500 for the PS5,” … “Microsoft has a big balance sheet. If they want to cut the price by $100… they will. I think they’re waiting to have Sony blink first, and then they’ll reveal the price and release date.”…”Very likely sometime in November, very likely $400, and fans are going to get a lot from their $400.”

If Patcher’s analysis is correct, Xbox will beat PlayStation at price with Series S. Series X will be the most powerful console and will maintain a competitive price with PS5.

Perhaps, the price of the next-gen console has leaked online, and the leaker did not get enough attention as it chose 4chan as the platform to reveal his claims, however, his information has proven to be right after the reveal of PlayStation 5 at The Future of Gaming event.

Back in May 2020, the leaker suggested a huge console, launching on November for $499, and leaked the announcements of  Horizon: Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart , Marvel’s Spiderman: Miles Morales.
