Xbox Games Showcase

Xbox Games Showcase Announced – Live on July 23

Xbox has just announced a new Xbox Games Showcase, the digital event will go live on July 23, at 9am PT. Fans can expect to see Xbox Series X gameplay, one of the confirmed games to be unveiled is Halo Infinite. The digital livestream will take place on the official Xbox YouTube channel and will also be streamed by Geoff Keighley at Summer Game Fest.

Last week, an allegedly insider leaked the plans of Xbox ahead of the announcement of Xbox 20/20 marketing campaign. Insiders leaked the schedule of the now confirmed Xbox Games Showcase, but what insiders leaked might be more interesting than the Halo Infinite gameplay reveal. Xbox Showcase is rumored to announce up to three titles for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One.

The leak also indicates that a new exclusive IP will be announced from a Japanese studio, there is a lot of secrecy inside the Xbox team about the new IP and is expected to be one of the biggest announcements at Xbox Series X First Party showcase.

Other rumored title to be revealed is Forza Motorsports 8, this game is a cross-gen title, like most of the games to be revealed in the digital event. A new Fable game is also said to be unveiled.

Insiders also suggested that Xbox Game Studios showcase will make up for the disappointing Xbox Series X gameplay reveal, being that said, fans will need to be aware that games to be revealed are not gen exclusive, those games might not take advantage of the full potential of Xbox Series X.

After the disappointing Inside Xbox May 7, General Manager of Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg, acknowledged that the marketing team “set some wrong expectations”. Is important to note that today’s announcement does not mention Xbox Series X, or next-gen anywhere.

“Had we not said anything & just shown May’s Inside Xbox show like we did last month, I suspect reactions might have been different,” … “Clearly we set some wrong expectations & that’s on us… we appreciate the feedback & can assure you we will take it all in & learn as a team.”
