Samurai Shodown Receives Western Release For PS4 And Xbox One

SNK is making a big comeback this year with their reboot of the weapons-based fighting classic, Samurai Shodown. We’ve seen plenty of news regarding the upcoming fighter, including character trailers (Nakoruru, Darli Dagger, Ukyo Tachibana, Charlotte and Shiki), exclusive gameplay and season pass details – but now we’ve finally received an official release for the western version of the game.

To go along with the release date announcement also comes a brand new “Return of a Legend” trailer which you may view below:

The new trailer gives fans a closer, more in-depth look at the mechanics in the Samurai Shodown reboot. The video details the massive amount of damage one strike can deal, the all-new “rage gauge” and the legendary storied saga that follows the Samurai Shodown characters.

The game has recently been announced for a Japanese release date of June 27, 2019 for the PS4 and Xbox One, and now it’s confirmed for a western release date two days prior, on June 25, 2019 for both consoles. And if players purchase the game before June 30, 2019 they will receive the first six months of DLC free of charge.

Samurai Shodown is also slated to release in Q4 for the PC and Switch, though a release date has yet to be announced for those two platforms.
