Hideo Kojima In Talks With Junji Ito For New Project

Hideo Kojima had a project recently canceled, the game director is now planning to produce a new horror game with the support of Manga artist Junji Ito.

Kojima’s new project is in pre-production, Ito denies that anything is confirmed, so far Kojima has only invited the manga artist who is known for his unsettling and nightmare-fueling illustrations.

“I do know director Kojima and we have been in a conversation that he may have a horror-based game that he may be doing,” Ito told Comic Book via a translator, “and so he has invited me to work on that, but there are no details on it yet.”

A lot of indications of a new Silent Hill game were hinted by Kojima Productions and reliable leaker AestheticGamer. However, Kojima recently admitted that he had a project canceled.

“Recently a major project of mine got canceled so I’m pretty pissed, but that’s the games industry for you.”

P.T. ended as just an experiment, but I would like to make another horror game someday,” said Kojima in April, 2020 “Something that uses a revolutionary method to create terror, that doesn’t just make you pee your pants, but crap them. I already have ideas in mind.”

Konami has denied that a new Silent Hill is being remade, dismissing recent rumors from AestheticGamer who affirmed that Konami was reaching several studios for the reboot of the franchise, the leaker also said that an episodic Silent Hill game was being planned, a partnership between Sony, Kojima Productions and Konami was rumored to be in negotiation.

Back in December 2019, Hideo Kojima subtly teased that he was working on a silent office for new ideas, all that could be seen was his PC and its wallpaper, a hill. In March 2020, Kojima Productions’ Head of Marketing, teased an announcement that never took place, the Kojima’s employee wrote on Twitter Sorry for being ‘Silent’ the image shows him ‘Next Week!!!” on pyramid branded pencil.
