Game Boy And Game Boy Color Games Coming To Switch – Rumor

While Nintendo has struggled in some aspects of adopting a paid online component to the Nintendo Switch, it is hard to argue that the retro games made available to players through the service aren’t worth it. Currently offering a selection of games across the NES and SNES, it is a great way to experience a selection of classic games. According to new sources, gamers should be expecting two more consoles to be joining the library of classics, the Gameboy and Gameboy Color.

Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.

First reported over the “Nate the Hate” youtube channel, other publications such as Nintendo Life, and Eurogamer have stated to confirm this news that Nintendo Switch will be adding Game Boy and Gameboy Color games through their own sources. Eurogamer has also stated that their sources have stated that other retro systems are “on the cards.”

While the selection on the system is varied and fun, of course, it has started to feel stale given how long the NES and SNES have been the focus of this. The earliest Game Boy systems would offer a great way to mix things up. Not to mention the Game Boy is where many a game saw its introduction, most noticeably being Pokemon.

Of course, it is doubtful that introducing two new systems will mean an end to more games for the classic home consoles. There are many a game that people are still holding out hope will appear on the service. As a long-time Harvest Moon fan, I will be hoping that any one of the games released across the Game Boy makes the list of additions when they finally decide to make the announcement.
