Pokemon Presents Announced For August

The Pokemon Company has announced a new Pokemon Presents event for later this month. The event will show off new looks at the upcoming games Pokemon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as well as more news concerning Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are the two next mainline games in the series and are set to release in November of this year. They are remakes of 2006 Pokemon games that were released on the Nintendo DS. These games also follow a long history in the franchise of updating older versions of the games for the new market.

Pokemon Legends Arceus is a different story, however. Announced at the same time as the remakes in will serve as a prequel to them, being set in a feudal take on the region. The game will feature action-oriented combat and allow for players to capture pokemon without the need for a battle prior.

It will feature a more open-world take on the game franchise by building on the concept of the wild area that was introduced in the previous games. If this game does well we could begin to see more entries give a higher level of freedom to players. It is currently slated for 2022.

While these three games were specified specifically as they are the next major games on the slate it is always possible we might see more during this event. That being said even if there is not, these should offer enough to get fans excited.

The event itself is set to be held on August 18, 2021, at 6:00 AM PT/ 9:00 PM ET. All three of these games were previously announced at a Pokemon Presents event in February of this year and were announced to coincide with the pokemon‘s 25th anniversary.
