In a recent interview with Bloomberg, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will likely be revealed this year and may be available not “too far in the future.” Additionally, Hamaguchi stated that the team wants the third installment to feature brand-new elements and gameplay mechanics, and that they have plans for the new gameplay style. “We want to make sure we’re expanding with every installment in terms of scale, as well as retaining that freshness as you go into each installment,” said Hamaguchi.
In an interview with Automaton-Media last month, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is currently in “a playable state” and that it “it wont be long” before more details about the game are officially revealed.“ Development of the third installment is progressing very smoothly, and we’re almost exactly on schedule with the milestones we set at the beginning of the project,” said Hamaguchi. “The game is already in a playable state, and right now, we’re in the final push phase, refining and building up the experience.”
“We’re at the stage where the quality improves day by day, and each time we play it, the scenery feels different, so it’s genuinely exciting,” he continued. “I think it won’t be too long before we’re able to share some kind of update with everyone.”
In a GameSpot report last month, game director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the studio will continue using Unreal Engine 4 for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and will not be switching to Unreal Engine 5. “We’ve been using Unreal Engine 4, but we’ve made a lot of modifications to fit our needs,” Hamaguchi said. “It’s more beneficial to have something we’re already familiar with and have customized to fit our needs.” Additionally, Hamaguchi confirmed that the final installment’s title has been decided internally by the trilogy’s creative director, Tetsuya Nomura.
