Activision Delays Call of Duty Launches

Activision has announced that it will be delaying all Call of Duty seasons indefinitely. This includes Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare’s Season 4, and Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 7. Both seasons were originally set for next week.

The company did not provide new dates for the seasons, but players can reportedly still take this time to complete their battle passes.

Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone was originally going to see the return of iconic character, Captain Price on June 3. While Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 was set for a release between June 1 and June 3.

Other companies to have postponed events include Sony, who has postponed their PlayStation 5 unveiling until further notice. Similarly, EA has postponed the reveal of Madden NFL 21 for the same reasons. However, the new PlayStation 5 event is rumored to take place on June 12.

Epic Games is also postponing its new season for Fortnite, however its reasons were different, and the company set the new release date for the season for June 11.

Modern Warfare (2019) is reportedly the most successful Call of Duty game the series has ever seen, reaching $600 million sales within the first three days of release. It broke several sales records including most digital copies sold for a game within three days on the PlayStation.

The game also won several awards for categories such as : best online multiplayer, best original score, and best audio mix.

The game features a single-player campaign, several multiplayer modes, and most popularly a free battle royale. The battle royale mode, Warzone, is numbered at a staggering 50 million players, with nearly 450,000 players per day on average.

While fans patiently wait for more updates from Activision; they can enjoy a recently added duos mode in Warzone, allowing squads of two players as opposed to three.
