Xbox To Make Huge Announcement For Game Pass

Xbox is reportedly making a huge Game Pass announcement in the next two or three weeks, according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, Microsoft’s announcement will give players a “big reason” to get Xbox Game Pass. Team Xbox is betting on the subscription-based service to increase its 10 million subscribers, recently it was announced that on September 15, Project xCloud will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at no additional cost.

Grubb teased Xbox’s announcement via Twitter, here is what he had to say:

“Like I said, it’s going to be kind of an Xbox Month,” said Grubb. “It already did the xCloud announcement, and Phil already showed up on the Samsung Galaxy thing. Should still expect to see more about Xbox Series S and yet another big reason to get Game Pass in the next 2-to-3 weeks.”

He makes clear that the announcement is not that a major title or any specific game will join the subscription service. “It’s not any specific game or anything like that,” said Grubb. “For example, Cyberpunk is not coming to Game Pass at launch.” His claims could suggest that collaboration with another giant in the industry is in the talks.

In recent, news from Xbox, the marketing team decided to dismiss their Xbox 20/20 marketing campaign. Is uncertain if the decision was made due to COVID-19 delays.

Xbox has a massive year ahead of us, as outlined below. After reassessing our programming for the rest of the year, we’ve decided to stop using the “Xbox 20/20” phrasing as it implied that we would be releasing information in one way only, through a dedicated monthly show.  We’ve got so much more to share with news about Xbox Series X, new games like Halo: Infinite, and cloud gaming via Xbox Game Pass. We’re going to share that news in a variety of ways. It may sometimes be a dedicated show, YouTube videos, partnering with others, or sharing the latest via Xbox Wire. We want to stay flexible with how we connect with you.
