Xbox Live And Reddit Unite To Help Gamers Connect

Xbox Live and Reddit are linking up, a post by Xbox Program Manager Catarina Macedo revealed yesterday.

As part of the expansion of the Xbox family, Xbox Live is enabling more ways for users to link their Xbox Live accounts to their favorite gaming-relevant social networks. As of now, gamers can link Reddit to their Xbox Live profile, which nets them a handful of little perks.

Linking Reddit and Xbox Live together earns players a neat little trophy for their Reddit profile, and they can also display their Reddit account information on their profile and profile card on Xbox Game Bar (Windows 10) and the Xbox [Beta] App.

As stated in Macedo’s post, through social linking, Xbox has enabled a bunch of new features to help players share where they are, and to help them find their friends online.

• Identity: Display linked social networks in Xbox profiles and profile cards (available on Game Bar and the Xbox [Beta] PC app).
• Friend-Finding:Find and follow existing friends in other social networks, currently with Facebook and Steam (available on FB on console, Steam and FB on Game Bar and the Xbox [Beta] PC app).
• Presence-Sharing: Players can share their Xbox One presence to Discord profiles/servers (available on Xbox One console, Game Bar and the Xbox [Beta] PC app).

In addition to Reddit, several other social media sites are available for players to link their Xbox Live accounts to.

• Twitter: Linking Xbox Live accounts to Twitter on Xbox One allows users to share screenshots and videos to Twitter. On PC, they can also display their Twitter account on their Xbox profile + profile card.
• Facebook: Linking to Facebook allows players to find Facebook friends who have also linked their accounts.
• Discord: Linking to Discord allows users to share their Xbox One Presence information. (A user’s Presence shows what games they are playing on Xbox One – console only.) This will display their Discord account on their Xbox profile + profile card.
• Twitch: Linking to Twitch on PC (Game Bar and Xbox [Beta] app) allows users to display their Twitch channel on their Xbox profile + profile card.
• Steam: Linking to Steam on PC (Game Bar and Xbox [Beta] app) allows users to display their Steam profile on their Xbox profile + player card, and find their Steam friends who have also linked their accounts.
