World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Leaked

Blizzard has been making a lot of announcements recently from the new Hearthstone expansion to the Overwatch PvP beta, with next big announcement to take place on April 19th – which will be the announcement of the new World of Warcraft expansion. With the long-running MMO bleeding subscribers throughout the Shadowlands expansion, many want to know where Blizzard is going to take us next, and what their plans are to spark some life into the game.

Disclaimer: the information contained in this report has not been confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt.

However, Blizzard may have already been beaten to the punch, as some users over in the MMO-Champion forums have noticed references to a Dragonflight expansion contained within the source code of the World of Warcraft website. According to the thread, there are references to three different Dragonflight products in the code – Dragonflight base, Dragonflight Heroic, and Dragonflight epic. It’s not clear if this is the actual name of the expansion, but there are also DNS records set for dragonflight.blizzard.com, which makes it less likely that it’s just a placeholder.

Another user also seems to have come across official artwork for the expansion which includes the logo. The artwork shows the Red Dragon Aspect Alexstrazsa the Life Binder standing in front of a roaring dragon with the logo in the bottom left:

The next expansion for WoW has been rumored to be dragon based for a while now. A post made back in February on the MMO-Champion forums that allegedly leaked a lot of details for the upcoming expansion including the main enemy, zones, new micro classes (one spec each), class skins and more. While some of the details in the leak seem plausible, some, like micro classes, seem a bit far fetched. So far Blizzard has confirmed nothing, so there is no choice but to wait until the official announcement on April 19th.
