Xbox Game Pass teaser showing a new game added to the service

We’d like to see Xbox Game Pass on all platforms, Says Head of Gaming Services at Microsoft

Xbox Game Pass is obviously the most successful subscription service in video game industry so far. Aside from its popularity between Xbox One and Windows 10 owners, the service offers a rich pack of games that no one wants to miss so easily. Personally, I enjoy the way Microsoft goes forward with its Xbox Game Pass service and it will definitely be better as we get closer to the launch of Xbox Scarlett. However, Microsoft is not only planning to transfer the service on Scarlett, but also has a vision to make it available on other platforms like Epic Games Store.

Previously, we’ve heard about the possibility of launching Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live on Nintendo Switch following the expansion of collaboration between two companies which led Xbox-exclusive titles such as Cuphead and Ori to get confirmed for Switch. So, if Microsoft wants to expand its services on other platforms, Switch might be the first destination.

Speaking to Game Reactor, Ben Decker, head of Games Services confirmed that the green team wants to expand Game Pass on as much platforms as possible, though currently they have no specific plan for that. Decker said:

You know, we would like to see Game Pass on all platforms ultimately and I think that is a long term goal. We don’t have any specific plans today, but we would love to see Game Pass really go everywhere.

On the other hand, when Greenberg, head of marketing at Microsoft, was asked about a possible collaboration with Epic Games Store he answered:

Of course, we would like, or rather, we would have no problem doing it but Epic should focus more on the community, at the moment it is clear that their goal is to gain market share with the exclusives, to the benefit of the developers, but on the community side we are still far behind Steam.

Epic Games currently needs much to do in order to improve its user experience compared to Steam. The platform doesn’t even feature pre-loading after almost a year from its launch.

Xbox Game Pass is currently available on Xbox One and PC. Recently, Devil May Cry 5 has been added to the service which is great surprise for subscribers.
