Funcom has released psychological horror game The Park for the Nintendo Switch.
As seen in books, movies, video games, and sometimes in real life, often what one perceives to be innocent and harmless is that which has the potential to frighten one the most. This is the case in psychological horror game The Park, which Funcom has announced is now available for Nintendo Switch.
The Park provides a short but intense experience, set in Atlantic Island Park after closing hours. Players step into the shoes of Lorraine, a woman in search of her son, Callum. The child’s quest to find his missing teddy bear leads him down a path through a park haunted by tragedy and drama. Atlantic Island Park has a history of freak accidents as well as grotesque killings. Locals worry the park is not yet done claiming innocent lives.
First launched on PC back in 2015, then for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016, the game was originally released in the English language only, but as of this week has received French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese translations within the PC and PlayStation 4 versions. Additional translations for the Xbox One are slated to come soon.
The Nintendo Switch version of The Park is the second game to be released by Funcom this week, following the launch of cosmic horror game Moons of Madness on Tuesday. Both games are set in the same thematic universe as Funcom’s Secret World Legends, but playing one of the games is by no means a prerequisite to enjoy the others.
The Park is available on the Nintendo Game Store for $9.99/€9.99.
