Moons of Madness Releases Today – Details And Launch Trailer

Moons of Madness, the highly anticipated game coupling Lovecraftian horror with Mars exploration, launches today, October 22, 2019.

Developed by Rock Pocket Games and published by Funcom, Moons of Madness has players assume the role of Shane Newehart, chief engineer on a research facility 140 million miles away from home. In Neweheart’s shoes, gamers job is to ensure all systems run as they should on the Mars base; however, after awakening from a disconcerting dream, Neweheart may find himself in over his head. Players must rely on remaining calm, utilizing problem-solving skills and their ability to outrun terrifying creatures to survive, delving deeper and deeper into a world of conspiracy and madness.

“There is no better time of year to release Moons of Madness than Halloween,” said Joel Bylos, Funcom’s Chief Creative Officer. “The dark atmosphere of the game, the eerie sounds and creatures you will encounter, the terror you must overcome should all contribute to making Moons of Madness a perfect fit.”

Norwegian game studio Rock Pocket Games began Moons of Madness as a passion project, long before Funcom started supporting the game as publisher. “We wanted to make a game that touches on your inner struggles, as well as the threats you face from the outside, in true Lovecraftian manner,” explains Ivan Moen, CEO of Rock Pocket. “Now that the game is finally out, we can’t wait to see how players will react.”

Moons of Madness is set in the same thematic universe as Funcom’s The Secret World, a place where conspiracy and dark secrets are commonplace. Available tp play now on Steam, the Lovecraftian cosmic horror title is also available for pre-orders on Xbox One and Playstation 4, and is scheduled for console release January 21, 2020.
