Steam Game Festival is Now Postponed – Live on June 16

Valve has confirmed the delay of the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition, the event officially scheduled for June 9, will now take place on June 16. Valve’s celebration will take place at the Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighley shared the news about the delay via Twitter.

The Steam Game Festival is a new event, the first edition took place together the The Game Awards in 2019, sharing news and announcements, the festival also rewards subscribers with discount deals and demos. Below is the official description of the event:

Celebrating amazing upcoming games through demos and live developer events

The Steam Game Festival is an event that shines a spotlight on games set to be released within the next year. From June 16th – 22nd, check out upcoming releases, try them out with time-limited demos or short playable experiences, connect with the developers behind the games, and add games to your wishlist for a reminder when they release!

Usually, Steam Game Fest features free game demos for subscribers, players will have a 48-hour window to play the game and make a purchase decision, however,  companies and publishers are trying to compensate the lack of an E3 2020 by making a bigger impact. Geoff Keighley teases fans that 2020 will see a better and bigger Steam Game Fest

“Much more news will be coming soon about my plans for the Summer,” he writes, “an entirely new way for us all to gather and celebrate gaming in these uncertain times.”
