Sony Announces New State of Play

PlayStation has just announced a new State of Play episode on Thursday, August 6 at 1:00 pm Pacific Time / 4:00 pm Eastern Time / 9:00 pm BST, the all-digital event will last around 40 minutes and will be live on Twitch and YouTube.

According to PlayStation, there will not be any PS5 update, but there will be announcements on new PS4, PS VR games.

What to expect:
• A focus on upcoming PS4 & PS VR games
• A few quick check-ins on third-party and indie games from June’s PS5 showcase
• No big PS5 announcements!

Sid Shuman Senior Director, SIE Content Communications added that nothing from PlayStation Studios will be revealed in the new State of Play.

We’ve got a great lineup in store featuring plenty of new gameplay footage and other game updates. Can’t wait to hear what you think! … And just to be super clear — there will be no PlayStation Studios updates in Thursday’s episode. There won’t be any updates around hardware, business, preorders, or dates either. On Thursday, our focus is squarely on showcasing some cool upcoming games coming to the broader PlayStation ecosystem. Should be fun!

Interestingly, a Silent Hill rumor appeared last week, the alleged leaker claims that on this week a new Silent Hill game will be announced exclusively for PlayStation 5. Konami added fuel to the rumor by creating a new Twitter account for the game and teasing that a new project could be announced.

Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.

Fans are still believing that a new Silent Hill can be announced as early as next week, interestingly there was a leak of PS5 reveal event “Future of Gaming”, the leak was unnoticed as the insider chose 4chan as the platform to reveal the information, his information was mostly correct, from the game’s announcements as well as the console huge design. There is still something that it’s missing according to the leaked information, a remake of a PS1 classic that everyone will love.
