Project Eve Shown At PlayStation Showcase

Announced back in 2019, the first console game from Korean developer Shift Up Games, simply known as Project Eve, appeared during the PlayStation Showcase with a gameplay trailer. It appears that the game will be launching exclusively for the PlayStation 5, though most likely we will see it go to Xbox and PC in the future as it was also originally announced for them.

Fans of hack n slash games such as Bayonetta should definitely be excited about this game as the trailer should hit many of the same notes. You play as a female protagonist in a skin-tight suit who seems well versed with a blade and fights mostly monsters that are three times bigger than her.

The trailer opens with a cinematic boss fight in which our protagonist nimbly moves around the hulking monster, even cutting a metal arm away from its body and using that as a weapon. The momentum shifts and soon that monster is slamming her around before throwing her straight into space.

In an official PlayStation Blog, post-Kim Hyung Tae outlined the setup for the story, saying:

In the not-too-distant future, mankind is expelled from Earth after losing the battle against the invaders called the NA:tives. To win back Earth, the player becomes Eve, the survivor of the paratrooper squad deployed from the Colony, who must fight through powerful enemies with new comrades. We invite you to join Eve’s adventure in the face of unknown creatures on a desolate, destroyed Earth.

In the trailer, we are treated to a beautiful yet deadly post-apocalyptic earth as she battles the many creatures that now inhabit it. Unfortunately, the team behind this game is not ready to discuss a release date so all we can do is wait.
