Naughty Dog Working On ‘Several Cool Things’

According to The Last of Us Part 2 director, Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog is working on several cool things.

If you tweet at me, asking about a future project, I can’t say anything… Please stay patient. We have several cool things we can’t wait to share with you. As soon as we can, we will!

Druckmann announced in 2019 that The Last of Us Part II wouldn’t feature Factions multiplayer like the original game. The main reason is that Naughty Dog “wanted to take all of the resources to make this the biggest game we’ve ever done”.

Now that the game has been released, fans are expecting to see more content released to the game. The studio teased fans that “the fruits of our team’s online ambition” will be experienced soon, but it wouldn’t be as part of The Last of Us Part II.

When and where it will be realized is still to be determined. But rest assured, we are as big a fan as Factions as the rest of our community and are excited to share more when it’s ready.

The Last of Us Part II has received 13 nominations for the upcoming BAFTA Games Awards, Neil Druckmann also took the chance to express their gratification to the media, critics, and fans for the reception of the polemic game.

We are extremely grateful for all the recognition our game is garnering. We won’t always get the wins or the nominations we want. Please don’t diminish any other game’s achievements to prop us up. Lots of love to go around. Thanks for your support.

Druckmann also suggested that The Last of Us Part III can happen sometime in the future, “As you start wrapping things up, creatively there are fewer and fewer responsibilities and my mind can’t help but think about the next thing,” he says. “So, yeah, the next thing could be a Part III, the next thing could be some new IP.” Ultimately, the best idea gets chosen by the management of Naughty Dog, and PlayStation Studios.
