Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is expected to launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Previous reports from Grubb affirmed that Mass Effect could be one of the seven games coming to Nintendo Switch in the next months, however, the insider received the information that Nintendo Switch will not support the remastered graphics of the new collection.
“EA has multiple games coming to Nintendo Switch and Mass Effect is definitely not one of them,” Grubb said. “Not yet, anyhow. If that happens, it won’t happen in that one-year window that they talked about in their last shareholder meeting.”
In early 2019, BioWare’s Producer Mark Darrah and General Manager Casey Hudson confirmed that Mass Effect is not forgotten and “there are still lots of stories to be told”. Jeff Grubb suggested that October will see a Remasster, suggesting something related to the Mass Effect franchise. A twitter user asks the journalist if the October date suggests a release date or the announcement, something that Grubbs answered by saying “why not both?”
Mass Effect is a military science fiction game created by Preston Watamaniuk, Drew Karpyshyn, and Casey Hudson, the development studio was BioWare and the publisher is EA. The story is presented on a third-person perspective where players take the role of a soldier named Commander Shepard, his mission is to save the galaxy from a race of mechanical beings known as Reapers.
The original Mass Effect: Trilogy, is available on Windows PC through Origin, and PlayStation 3. According to EA, the collection features over 75 hours of content one of gaming’s most acclaimed franchises. “Experience all three Mass Effect games for an amazing value, including the original Mass Effect for the first time ever.”
