Konami recently announced that it will increase base salaries for new employees in Japan. The base salary for college graduates will rise by 29 percent, from ¥240,000 three years ago to ¥310,000. The company says this change is intended to provide competitive compensation for new recruits. “This will enable us to offer competitive compensation for new recruits and create an environment where talented employees can thrive with a sense of satisfaction in their work,” it wrote. “The company has also revealed that all employees will also be getting an increase of ¥5,000 per month in base salary, and has noted that this is the first year in a row where it has done this.”
“By consistently investing in human capital, including the raise of base salary this time, we will aim to improve employee engagement and continue to create better products and services.
“Looking five to ten years ahead into the future, Konami Group is committed to achieving sustainable growth by securing diverse and talented human resources, maximizing the abilities of our employees, and creating both a comfortable and satisfying working environment.”
In a Famitsu article earlier this year outlining developer goals for 2026, Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto stated that the team’s goal is to release at least one new Silent Hill game in 2026 and every year thereafter.
“Following the release of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024, we were able to deliver Silent Hill f in September 2025, and the Silent Hill series is now back on track,” said Okamoto in the Famitsu article. “We aim to release about one title per year, including both announced and unannounced titles. We’re not sure how far we can achieve this, but we’ll do our best as the producers of the Silent Hill series. Ideally, we’d like to keep the buzz around Silent Hill constant.”
In a Q&A session with investors last year, Bloober Team revealed that development on the remake of the original Silent Hill has begun. The developer also disclosed that one of its teams is currently working on five different projects in the early stages, including one major project and four smaller ones.
