A deleted Reddit post regarding Grand Theft Auto VI appeared recently; a Reddit user claiming to be a QA tester for Rockstar Games shared lots of information about the next installment in the GTA franchise.

Rockstar likes to work silent, usually choosing not to reveal large details on Grand Theft Auto games while in the development process. After seven years since Grand Theft Auto V, speculation and expectation has risen, with lots of rumors and leaks. Some of the alleged leaks claim ‘Project Americas’ is the code name of Grand Theft Auto VI, as the game will take place in various locations in the USA.

The biggest bit of information revealed is the map of Grand Theft Auto VI. According to the leak, the map will be “huge,” featuring three states and fully detailed two major cities: Carcer City (Based on Boston and the East Coast of USA) and Vice City (Miami, Florida). An abundance of towns, waterfronts, and suburbs are present.

The tester said the game will also feature improved atmospheric effects as seen on Red Dead Redemption 2, with a Google Earth-esque feel if players fly high enough.

Another topic leaked was the protagonist, or the appearance of more than one, like what was featured in GTA V. I do know that multiple protagonists are a thing, two of them might be siblings(?). One of them is an undercover cop or something (think Departed movie).” The tester said that the character available looked like “a generic NPC, without voice overs or lines”. This might suggest that the story is early in its development.

Moreover, in the leaker’s opinion, the gunplay “…felt somewhat unfinished when I play it, almost identical to GTA V’s with a clunky cover system”. Like said above, the Reddit post is now deleted, but the original post has been saved and can be seen below: Stay tuned at Gaming Instincts via Twitter, YouTube and Facebook for more gaming news.
