Grand Theft Auto: Online DLC, The Cayo Perico Heist Out Dec 15

Rockstar Games announced today, through a trailer, the newest expansion to Grand Theft Auto: Online, The Cayo Perico Heist, comes out December 15. 

The trailer for the upcoming expansion shows a tropical party island where “anything goes.” The Heist involves robbing the man who owns the island. Submarines will be introduced as another new vehicle to spend exorbitant amounts of money on. 

In the trailer, Rockstar spares no time in showing the new island GTA: Online will be using for the upcoming Heist. Building off the Diamond Casino Heist, players will have access to clubs scattered through the island. Rockstar says this is their biggest update to GTA: Online ever. With the update comes new weapons, new vehicles, 100 new songs on the radio, and a submarine headquarters. 

GTA: Online has been out for seven years, believe it or not. Last year, Rockstar introduced the Diamond Casino & Resort update, changing things considerably. Heists have been steadily trickling in before and since then, more notably The Doomsday Heist, which added a host of new items, but never a new location.

Not much is known about the size of the island, but with this being the first separate location provided for GTA: Online players to cause chaos in, expectations are high. Los Santos has grown old after traipsing around its lush and varied topography for seven years. It is only natural for players to expect more to explore after this much time and hopefully, with this update, there will be a sizable chunk for players to sink their grills into.

More details concerning the contents of the DLC are to be provided by Rockstar closer to the release.
