Gods Will Fall Releases January 29, 2021

Gods Will Fall, Deep Silver’s newest project, is a dark fantasy action game coming out January 29, 2021 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and PC. 

Developer Clever Beans has taken the action game format to a difficult intensity, it seems. With this dark fantasy game about a surviving band of Celtic warriors, who are tasked with killing the gods who have all but enslaved humanity under their mighty thumbs and spider legs, Gods Will Fall rewards players handsomely for surviving and harshly punishes those who die at the hands of humanity’s oppressor. For millennia, humanity has been forced to do the gods bidding and now “a few remaining Celtic warriors of a destroyed army” are standing up to them. 

The trailer and website gives sizeable insight at what combat will look like with eight different warriors to choose from, each coming with a weapon unique to them. Each god, similarly, has their own respective realm. A warrior must fight through the hordes of henchmen in the realms of the gods before facing them. The trailer highlights the gods the player will have to defeat including Belenos, the antler headed god of the wicker realm; Ogmios, the god devourer realm with a 20 foot long tongue; Osseus, the spider queen of the bone realm; Krannus, an ancient giant serpent god of the knowledge realm; and the bird god Morrigan, who rules over the War realm. 

The trailer and website, however, does not go into depth about what the different warriors will bring to the table when facing against these behemoths other than what is shown through combat in the trailer. Axes, bows, and fireballs are at the players disposal, but more is sure to come as we approach the release date.
