EA DICE Confirms Private Games Heading To Battlefield V

Battlefield V has been slowly regaining followers since the inception of the series’ take on the battle royale genre, Firestorm. With the player count steadily increasing due to the new rising success of the battle royale mode addition, DICE and EA are eager to keep the momentum going.

A recent announcement from Battlefield’s Community Broadcast page states that the team behind Battlefield V is planning on making a return for the Rented Server Program – which is now called Private Games. DICE has confirmed that work has already started and expects the new addition to go live in Battlefield V this summer and will be available for all Battlefield V players.

They also state that while the Private Games feature will release this summer, they still plan to work with it and evolve the feature over time. Various administration tools to help customize your experience will be available for free for anyone who owns the game, and you can find all functionality features available to server creators below:

  • Create private game from main menu
  • Set custom name for the server
  • Set description for the server
  • Password protect the server
  • Control what maps are used within the map rotation
  • Control what game modes are available
  • Control the number of players needed to break pre-round
  • Kick players from the current game
  • Control what classes are available
  • Control what weapons are allowed
  • Control if vehicles are allowed
  • Control if the kill cam will be displayed
  • Turn friendly fire on or off
  • Turn regenerative health on or off
  • Change soldier tags as visible or not
  • Enable or disable third-person camera view
  • Enable squad leader spawn only
  • Enable or disable aim assist auto rotation
  • Enable or disable aim assist cooldown
  • Control bullet damage scaling
  • Control game mode ticket scaling
  • Control soldier and vehicle respawn timers
  • Turn the mini map on or off
  • Enable or disable the compass

DICE has also stated that once a private server is open, it will remain open to participating players even after the creator has logged off. However, once the server goes inactive it will go offline but will be saved locally so once logged back in you can jump right into your custom server.

While there’s no official release date for Private Games, we’re expected to see it rolled out sometime this summer.
