Destiny 2 The Dawning event is now live on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation versions of the looter-shooter. The holiday event brings guardians new currency, and a new weapon.
According to Bungie, The Dawning is a “free seasonal event where all Destiny 2 players can make treats, spread holiday cheer and get some goodies in-game”. It will run until January 5, giving Guardians plenty of time to get into the holiday spirit and get special rewards
Guardians are encouraged to warm up their ovens, gather ingredients, and spread cookies, and cheer across the solar system. New vendors and new seasonal awards await those keen on baking up a storm – and maybe even an unexpected gift or two.
To celebrate the season, Guardians can earn Dawning Spirit by completing missions, bounties, and recipes. These will go toward personal and communal goals. The more you get into the holiday spirit, the more Eva will have better rewards for everyone to share.
Besides the new weapon, Guardians can receive three engine effects, a unique transmat effect an animated shader, and new ghost skins.
A new exotic ship awaits those keen on a dashing trip through the stars. This ship boasts several features that can be unlocked by generating Dawning Spirit.
Tess Everis will have several festive items on display, including an elf-themed Ghost Shell and merry weapon ornaments. Guardians can grab them from the Eververse store for Bright Dust or Silver.

While all players are invited to participate in The Dawning, new players must first meet the following requirements:
