Dakar 18 Launches September 11 on Consoles and PC

Portuguese development studio and rally enthusiasts Bigmoon Entertainment announced today the official release date for the upcoming Rally Raid simulation Dakar 18. The cross-country rally racing game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on September 11th 2018.

Check out the vehicles trailer of Dakar 18, featuring some gameplay footage:

“Based on the world famous annual rally raid organized by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) in South America, Dakar 18 is a realistic simulation of the biggest cross-country rally in the world and features a variety of official vehicles and one of the biggest open worlds ever created. Players will have to use the real road books – provided by the pilots to the development team – to find the way across each of the 14 stages across Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.

Players will compete in fierce online multiplayer races as well as playing offline to harness and grow navigation and racing skills. Dakar 18 is focused on the realism and promises stunning visuals, which faithfully represent many of the official vehicles and pilots for each of the five racing categories (Cars,Bikes, Trucks, Quads and SxS)of the Dakar Rally 2018. In addition, the game will feature a single player, online and splitscreen multiplayer experience.

THE TASTE OF THE EXTREME

The Dakar is a rally raid made up of 10 stages that takes place in Latin America, but first and foremost, it is an incomparable human adventure.

Its history has been built in the world’s finest deserts with men and women from all horizons, taking on one of the hardest sporting challenges of our era.

A competition of extremes and an orienteering race, the Dakar brings together the leading rally raid riders and drivers, as well as amateur competitors who come to fulfil their dream, experience an adventure and meet the biggest challenge of their life on a bike, on a quad, in a car or in a truck. Over the last 40 years, each year 500 adventurers from more than 60 nationalities have come together for 15 days of a unique competition on which extraordinary feats of human endeavour are played out.”
