Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty Reveal Teased For PlayStation Event

Not long after PlayStation revealed that they have moved their event to this Thursday, Call of Duty developer David Vonderhaar tweeted three coffee cup emojis. This tweet is likely teasing the reveal of a new Call of Duty game or title from Treyarch at the PlayStation event.

While readers should avoid drawing any definitive conclusions or assumptions, the game most likely to be revealed is the rumored Call of Duty: Cold WarThere are currently only a handful of confirmed titles for PS5, including Fortnite, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and the next Battlefield. Considering the proximity of this tweet to the PlayStation event, it is possible that the next Call of Duty game will be available on next-gen consoles.

The rumored Cold War title will likely be an addition to the series Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game has been teased in Warzone, where players have been able to glitch through locked bunkers to see planes from the Cold War era. There has also been leaked footage from the rumored title. Unlike Black Ops 2, 3, and 4, the game will be set in the past and will possibly feature a campaign linked to Black Ops 1.

In addition to existing leaks, a listing for a PS4 game titled “The Red Door”, accompanied by the tag COD2020INTALPHA1 (Call of Duty 2020 Alpha) was uploaded to PSN. Activision and Treyarch have yet to respond to news outlets for comment regarding the rumors surrounding the new game.

The PlayStation event will take place on Thursday June 11 after having been delayed. The event promises footage from PS5 games, new game reveals, and much more. Fans can also look forward a possible first look at the console itself, along with release date and price.
