Rumored Call of Duty: Black Ops Title For 2020

According to Eurogamer, this year’s Call of Duty will be another Black Ops game set in the Cold War era. Treyarch has yet to confirm any details yet, but there is likely going to be a reveal soon.

Based on the leak, the game will be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Supposedly, the game will span over the years of both the Vietnam and Korean war.

Activision has already set up multiple teases to the game across their battle royale, Warzone. Players have been able to glitch through locked bunkers within the map to discover Cold War era spy planes among other hints at a Black Ops reboot.

Additionally, players of Warzone might have also noticed other interactable objects such as a phone and a laptop, which require a password to open. These assets are likely going to be used in the reveal of this year’s Call of Duty title.

The most recent Black Ops title to be released was Black Ops 4, which takes place in the future. Black Ops: Cold War is likely to follow the narrative of the first Black Ops, a game that also took place in the Cold War era.

It is difficult to say whether Black Ops 4 will be linked in the upcoming title or not, as it was the first Call of Duty game to not feature a campaign. Instead, the title focused on creating diverse multiplayer modes and environments, as well as 8 distinct maps for their zombie survival mode.

Call of duty: Black Ops Cold War will be the fifth Black Ops game in the roster. The first Black Ops was released in November 2010, making 2020 the 10-year anniversary of the series.

Activision has yet to respond to these rumors.
