Bungie Teases Big Surprises for Destiny 2 in 2021

The development team at Bungie apparently has a few surprises to reveal in 2021 for Destiny 2. This was teased by Joe Blackburn, Assistant Game Director who affirms that upcoming seasons will be “a little different” for Guardians.

Certainly, the Beyond Light expansion was quite different from previous DLCs as it brought players the ability to control set into the darkness with the stasis abilities, Blackburn teases that the  “best days are ahead” but he admits that Bungie will need some time to “validate” its content roadmap.

Last year, I said Destiny’s Best Days are ahead. Seeing what’s coming, I believe this more than ever. But we have work to do to get there. 2021 is going to be a little different for Destiny. Destiny 2: Beyond Light was the first expansion to launch after Bungie decided to split with Activision, unfortunately for the studio, the large expansion was met with a ‘generally unfavorable’ user score on Metacritic. Fans criticized Bungie’s decision to remove a large part of the quests, weapons, and activities that were bought by players when the game was not free-to-play.

Bungie announced recently that the upcoming season 13 would be bringing back some of the vaulted weapons with higher stats and some with a reskin. The Destiny 2 vault will continue to recycle old content with new content also being added in The Witch Queen and Lightfall the upcoming expansions that will be providing new content until 2022.

Destiny 2 is now available on all platforms including Google Stadia and next-gen consoles.
