SEGA has just announced that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will launch on PlayStation 5 on March 2, 2021.

SEGA’s new RPG-beat ’em up will launch on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 10, 2020. However, the PlayStation 5 users will have to wait until 2021 for the optimized version of the game, SEGA does not mention the reason behind the release schedule, but it may be a personal request from Xbox, a close partner of the Japanese developer.

SEGA took the opportunity to remind customers that Yakuza: Like a Dragon features Smart Deliver for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions. This means that players are empowered to buy the game once and have an optimized version for any of the Xbox consoles.

PlayStation users can also have some kind of Smart Delivery, customers who acquire the digital PS4 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon at PlayStation Store, they can download the PS5 version at no extra cost when it launches on March 2, 2021.

An experience like no other, Yakuza: Like a Dragon brings dynamic RPG gameplay to the streets of Yokohama, Japan, with an epic adventure that combines the intense brawls, crushing drama, and over the top hilarity that the Yakuza series is known for.
