Xbox and Windows get new avatars this fall

During Microsoft’s Tuesday Xbox Daily Live broadcast, it was announced that Xbox Avatars would be getting a revamp sometime in Fall 2017.

The new avatars will let you fully customize your online character with new body type options, clothing, and props. During the Xbox daily briefing at E3 yesterday, Microsoft demonstrated the new avatar system with a trailer and some behind-the-scenes footage of how the company is building the new Xbox Live Avatars. Microsoft’s trailer shows an amputee, playful costumes, wheelchairs, skateboards, and even motorbikes to demonstrate the wide array of props and customization. There’s even a new pregnancy option, and the ability to control the colors of an avatar with a picker system.

Xbox Avatars are digital creations used to represent Xbox gamers on Windows 10 and Xbox One consoles.

Check out the Video:

“”When we think about what we want to design for our customers, for our fans, at the end of the day, avatars are meant to be whatever you want your digital self to represent,” he said. “We don’t want to put you in a box.

“No matter what you think you look like, what you want to represent online, this new avatar system, the whole way we built it, is designed to make sure you feel like you can represent your best self online.”
