Xbox Series X Quick Resume Still Works After a Reboot

According to the latest podcast from Major Nelson the Xbox Series X will revolutionize the way players start a game, what he explains his conversation with Jason Ronald is the ‘Quick Resume’ functionality of the console, players will be able to start the game where it was left even after the system reboots.

Microsoft revealed this functionality along with the final specifications of the next generation Xbox Series X, but the reveal of the feature was short as Major Nelson further explains how important it will be for players not losing their time on loading screens.

“Quick Resume: The new Quick Resume feature lets you continue multiple games from a suspended state almost instantly, returning you to where you were and what you were doing, without waiting through long loading screens.”

This of course will make fans hungrier for more details of how the Xbox Series X will crush the competition, the small box will boast 12 teraflops of GPU power enhanced with Microsoft’s Variable Rate Shading and Hardware-Accelerated DirectX Raytracing. This will enable for 120fps gaming on selected games.

This performance boost will be noticed on retro-compatible games as the Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer confirmed that all previous gen games will “look and play better than ever before”.

Your favorite games, including titles in Xbox Game Pass, benefit from steadier framerates, faster load times and improved resolution and visual fidelity – all with no developer work required. Your Xbox One gaming accessories also come forward with you.

Smart Delivery is also a technology that was announced by Spencer, this will “empower” players to buy a game and play on an Xbox One or Xbox Series X.

We’re making the commitment to use Smart Delivery on all our exclusive Xbox Game Studios titles, including Halo Infinite, ensuring you only have to purchase a title once in order to play the best available version for whichever Xbox console they choose to play on. This technology is available for all developers and publishers, and they can choose to use it for titles that will be release on Xbox One first and come to the Xbox Series X later.
