“Developed by franchise custodians Turn 10, Forza Motorsport 7 will feature native 4K on Microsoft’s newly revealed Xbox One X and more than 700 cars, including “the largest collection of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches ever assembled.” It will also include 30 racing environments with more than 200 ribbons, driver customisation via a massive race gear collection that includes “hundreds of options spanning decades of race history and pop culture”, and dynamic weather.

Turn 10’s in-house engine, ForzaTech, was a centrepiece of Microsoft’s initial reveal of the then-Project Scorpio’s technology reveal back in April. While stress testing a version of Forza Motorsport 6 the console reportedly displayed the game at 4K/60 frames per second, using around 60-70% of its full power. A regular Xbox One runs the game at 1080p/60 frames per second using 90% of its power.

The confirmation of Forza Motorsport 7 for 2017 makes for a rare alignment of some of the biggest names in the serious racing space, with Sony’s Gran Turismo Sport and Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS 2 also due for arrival later this year.”
