Watch Dogs Legion Devs Put Story as a Priority

The developers behind Watch Dogs Legion are really doing a great job. If their project brings success with, the third installment for Watch Dogs series will be something that the video game industry would never forget. Ubisoft is going to do a job that no one has done before and it’s exciting. The idea to play as any NPC you want is great. It will bring so many new things to video game, such as the real meaning of death. If my memory serves me right, it’ll be the first game ever in which, when your character dies, it really dies and you will never see it again in the game. However, such a great mechanism in gameplay, needs a story that could completely fit into it.

Speaking to Spiel Times, Game Designer behind Watch Dogs Legion went over the game’s story structure and how it will be told through various characters and how it will bring new experience for each player. Kent Hudson said:

You know, first off – I know ‘play as anyone’ is kind of a crazy technological innovation with the simulation we’ve done, but story is still a huge part of the game it’s a huge part of the franchise and this game is no different. We’ve got five different storylines in the game, so it’s five main- you could call them quest lines if you want. And each one of them is tied to one of our thematic pillars.

So, for example, we’re gonna be looking at today a storyline that’s about the surveillance state. It’s basically about the spies of the nation turning their technology inward and actually spying on the citizens of England and London. There’s one that’s about the surveillance state. There’s one that’s themed around the private military contractors who’ve supplanted the police in the city, and they’ve actually taken over.

According to Hudson, Watch Dogs Legion will also make some links to the real-world organizations in the game, such as MI5 or MI6, which in his opinion is tightly tied to the atmosphere that the game is going to bring to us.

Watch Dogs Legion is set to be released on March 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
