Warner Announces the LEGO Harry Potter Collection for PS4

Warner Announces the LEGO Harry Potter Collection for PS4

Harry Potter fans should be happy to hear that Warner Bros. Interactive is giving the previous LEGO Harry Potter games the remaster treatment on the PlayStation 4, combining both titles and all the DLC in one disc.

  • LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four books and films—Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone ™, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ™, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban ™ and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ™—allowing fans to experience Harry’s first four years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in full LEGO form.
  • LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 transports players through the final three books and final four films—Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix™, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™—to experience Harry’s last years at Hogwarts™ and his battle against Lord Voldemort™ in the ultimate fight between good and evil.
  • Character Pack DLC included on disc featuring 10 characters—Godric Gryffindor, Harry (Yule Ball), Helga Hufflepuff, Lockhart (Straightjacket), Luna (Lion Head), Peeves, Hermione (Pink Dress), Ron Weasley (Ghoul), Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin.
  • Spell Pack DLC included on disc featuring 5 spells—Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors and Tentaclifors.

That’s not the only Lego-related Harry Potter content to expect this year. The toys-to-life game Lego Dimensions will get a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set in November, adding to an already eclectic mix of franchises included in the game. This could suggest that Warner Bros. doesn’t plan to release a dedicated Fantastic Beasts game.

Both Lego Harry Potter games received fairly positive reviews, continuing the great track record that developer Traveller’s Tales has produced over the last decade. This is in stark contrast to the more “faithful” video game adaptations, such as Deathly Hallows, Part 2, which, like many movie-to-game adaptations, was reviled.

“Based upon J.K. Rowling’s best-sellers, the titles obviously depict The Boy Who Lived’s evolution from bullied schoolboy to wizarding royalty. To be honest, we’re amazed no one’s made a great Harry Potter-themed role-playing game yet – imagine being able to create your own character and embark on your own wizarding adventure. It’d be amazing!”
