Its really surprising to see old franchises getting revived after so many years without even any notable speculation around them. This week, after revival of I.G.I series by Toadman Interactive, now another IP has got a sequel after more than ten years. Hardsuit Labs, the studio behind Blacklight: Retribution, is now developing Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, a sequel to modern action RPG that released back in 2004.
Troika Games’ Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines always described as a game with a rich world and story line that keeps you going, despite its graphical problems and some other minor issues. Story had taken place in a dystopian 21st century Los Angeles, where your character has been killed and then came to life as a Vampire. The sequel also, starts with the same scenario, but this time it’s set in Seattle, where you have to join to one of the vampire clans and make choices that will influence the way people treat you during gameplay.
According to the trailer, gameplay features some breath-taking melee combats that becomes more realistic with first-person point of view. You will be able to use some distinct abilities and skills depend on the faction that you’ve chosen to be in. Here you can watch the trailer:
World of the game, according to the trailer and screenshots, seems to be a dark and horrifying place to live without any notable power. So in a world with vampires circling around, darkness interrupted by neon lights and a great war happening between factions, you can expect a brilliant story, specially if you know that Brian Mitsoda, Lead Narrative Designer of the previous game, has come back again to work on the sequel. Mitsoda says:
Our aim has been to carry on the signature themes that made Bloodlinesunique – particularly its dark tone, atmosphere, and humor – and I think that fans of the original will love what we’re doing with Bloodlines.
Although the first entry of the series was Windows exclusive, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2020. I know that you want to say this date will probably be first days of next generation, but same as you, I think the platforms will be changed or at least the game will be available on both generations of consoles.
