UK Retailer Can’t Guarantee Xbox Series X Pre-Order

According to reports, ShopTo has sent an email to Xbox Series X pre-order customers about a potential delay in the shipment of the next-gen console.

“We have received the allocation details from Microsoft and, unfortunately, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to fulfil your pre-order on day one/release date.” 

In late September, ShopTo also informed PlayStation 5 customers a very similar scenario, warning them that it would not guarantee shipments of the console on launch date.

“We have received the allocation details from Sony and, unfortunately, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to fulfil your pre-order on day one/release date. Sony may notify us of additional stock with extra allocation for day one and you have already reserved your place in the queue. Some customers may cancel their pre-orders and that may allow yours to be next in line.”

As reported by VGC, the supply of next-gen consoles might varie according the region of the world, in Ireland, “due to circumstances ot of our control” GameStop will not be able to sell PlayStation 5 units.The retailer informed pre-order customers that it won’t ship the console until 2021, users had the chance to wait or cancel the purchase.

In the US, Amazon also warned that some that delays in the shipment of PS5 consoles from retailers to customers might be inevitable due to the high demand.

In order to satisfy the demand, Sony will be using air freight to prevent delays, insiders affirms that the company has booked 60 Delta planes to provide faster shipping of PS5 consoles. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO Jim Ryan promised that there will be more stock of next-gen consoles at launch than there were for the PS4.
