Four years after Frozenbyte’s third installment for Trine series that didn’t succeed in delivering a great experience to meet the expectations, now the studio is working on Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince as the latest entry for this long-running franchise which is about to release this year and now you can check out a lengthy gameplay trailer of it that showcases different features of the game.

Set in a 2.5D world filled with gorgeous landscapes and stunningly designed locations, you take the control of three different characters that are switchable in any given time. The group consists of a knight, a witch and an archer each one holding a completely distinct weapon in hand to fight against enemies and open up the way through interesting platforming puzzles.

During this gameplay footage, we get to see a lot of platforming gameplay style through different types of locations from tropical-like forests at daytime to haunting jungles with gorgeous lighting at night. Throughout your whole journey in the game, you’ll encounter with different puzzles on your way that can be solved with using the abilities of all the playable characters in various forms. Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince also features combat moments with different enemies and you are able to deal with them regarding your position and gameplay style with each one of heroes.

Furthermore, the game supports multiplayer co-op experience with up to 4 players at the same time which is also showcased during the new gameplay footage and in my opinion, Trine 4 even looks more entertaining when you play it with friends.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is set to be released this year for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
