Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Game is Coming Soon Says Jason Dill

Jason Dill, a professional skater can confirm that a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is being produced right now, the game will release in 2020.

“Did you guys know that there’s a new Tony Hawk Pro Skateboarder coming out in 2020?” said Dill on a recent episode of The Nine Club. Shaun’s [?] in it. So I made sure to add my board to the boards you could pick, because I wanted to be in that s**t too somehow!”

Professional skateboarder Jason Dill has now also confirmed that a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is in the works and releasing later this year, speaking on the same show where Armanto teased the same project back in 2019 (more on that below).

Back in March, a rumor surrounding a new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game appeared as an punk band called “The Death Set” claimed had been contacted by the developers for  Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2020. The band announced on their official Facebook page that they recorded a song for the game. VideoGamer also reports that, Lizzie Armanto, a professional Skater, also talked that a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game was being developed, a game she will be featured in.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was developed by Neversoft and published by Activision, the game released first for the PlayStation on September 29, 1999, following the game’s success, Activision hired several developers who ported the game to the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast, and N-Gage. The game was followed with three more successful releases, but following those, Activision opted for different kind of Tony Hawk’s games that favored open world mechanics, an approach that didn’t help the franchise. Facing an imminent expire of the license, Activision developed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, a game that was developed in a few months and managed to kill the franchise.
