Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Demo Announced

The first demo for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 was announced for later this summer on August 14. It is set in a warehouse, likely reflective of the warehouse map in the first game. The game will be fully released on September.

The title will feature new skaters not present in the original. Confirmed new skaters for the game include Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neill, Riley Hawk, and Tyshawn Jones.

“Modern-day skateboarding originated from a generation of skaters who grew up playing the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games,” said Michelle Bresaw, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Activision. “The world-class pro skaters we’re adding to this remaster took the tricks and combos from the videogame and made them possible in real life. We’re proud that the remaster will represent the skate culture landscape today with a diverse roster of skaters that will appeal to any gamer.”

The game is being developed by Vicarious Visions, who also developed Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy. It plans to bring back the iconic soundtrack of the original game, along with features like create-a-park and create-a-skater. Fans can expect the return of their favorite tricks, as well as secret areas and collectibles on the maps.

“There was something intuitive about the controls, it felt like this would be the kind of game that you don’t have to be a skater to appreciate because you can understand how to use the character and I think it would be really fun for skaters who don’t play video games as well.” – Tony Hawk

The title is available for pre-order now on the Epic Games Store, GameStop, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store. It is priced at $59.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
