THQ Nordic Acquires Warhorse Studios

THQ Nordic today announced the acquisition of another studio, this time is the developer responsible for the RPG acclaimed title Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Warhorse Studios.

According with reports, this is a nearly $40 Million deal, and it’s a pretty big deal for Warhorse Studios, who has been doing all they can by themselves, now they have a strong partner to invest in their new projects. The small Czech Republic studio was helped by Kikstarters to bring to life Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the game sold well.

Read below what Warhorse Studios CEO Martin Frývalský had to say about this deal:

“Becoming part of THQ Nordic family is an important milestone for our studio,”

“We began as a small start-up with a handful of employees who were enthusiastic enough to join this challenging project. The skills of our team members, trust and support of our main investor and passion of our fans, who supported development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance through a Kickstarter campaign, helped us grow to an international level. We believe that backing by THQ Nordic will give us an extra push in our mission to bring exciting games to our customers and extend the frontiers of the gaming industry.”

Warhorse Studios will be THQ Nordic’s first studio in the Czech Republic as it continues snapping up games and studios left and right. Recently, it grabbed TimeSplitters, Kingdoms of Amateur, and developer Coffee Stain, responsible for Goat Simulator. All these money moves have been positioning THQ Nordic to be a major publisher, restoring it to its former glory from the olden days.
