The Subject Coming to Steam Late 2018

Independent developer DarkStone Digital has announced The Subject by releasing an Alpha footage teaser trailer along with the launch of the steam page for the game. Players will be able to download the game end of year 2018.

The subject is a sci-fi horror puzzle game where you are the next subject in-line for testing. You are forced into a maze-like complex that you will have to navigate to find your way to the various puzzle rooms that need to be solved.

Far in the future, prisoners are bought and sold as property; used for everything both legal and otherwise without any repercussions to the buyer. Companies have replaced volunteers with prisoner purchases for various drug trials, weapons exercises, and anything else that could cause legal action. You have been purchased for testing.

Check the alpha teaser trailer down below:

“With a visual influence from 80s sci-fi and a dark tone, the player is given various puzzles to solve while navigating the maze-like complex. However, something else shares the halls of the facility and it’s hunting. A layer of pressure and a feeling of terror always being just around the corner have been combined with the winding tunnels and massive puzzle rooms to give the player an experience that will keep them immersed. Solve the puzzles, escape death, and learn the purpose of the Kohate complex.

Prisoners lose all rights when taken into custody and are instantly flagged as property, bought and sold throughout the galaxy for any use legal or otherwise without consequence to the buyer. You have been purchased. You have been acquired in the most recent bulk order of prisoners for BioMass Labs and are being shuttled off for study at the Kohate testing facilities. No information is known about the details of the study.”
