The Steam Controller Is Already Being Scalped For Triple The Price

Valve’s recently released Steam Controller sold out on the day of its release, with many potential customers expressing frustration over limited stock and availability. In response, Valve posted on social media that it is “working on getting more in stock and will have an update on expected timeline soon.”

However, due to high demand, listings for the controller appeared on eBay within hours of selling out, with scalpers marking up prices to more than three times the retail value. Some sellers have opened bidding starting at $110, while others have listed “Buy It Now” prices of $299.99 and even $399.99. While it is unknown how quickly Valve will be able to restock the item, potential buyers are likely to remain vigilant and purchase it as soon as possible to avoid inflated resale prices. The Steam Controller launched on May 4 via Steam and cost $99.
