The Mass Effect TV Show May Be Written To Appeal to Non-Gamers

According to a recent report from The Ankler, Amazon MGM’s Head of Global TV, Peter Friedlander, revealed that the upcoming Mass Effect TV show is being developed with non-gamers in mind and to make it appealing to them. Friedlander mentioned that while he’s still working on scripting and determining the direction of the show, it looks like the show will be as approachable as possible for a broader audience. It’s also worth noting that last year, Mike Gamble, a key figure in the Mass Effect series, revealed that the show will not retell the original game’s story and will not include the series’ iconic protagonist, Commander Shepard.

Mass Effect executive producer Mike Gamble revealed in an “N7 Day” blog post back in November that the upcoming Mass Effect game is still in development. The game was announced to be in development back in 2020.  A release date and platforms for the game have not been announced. According to past statements made by Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb and Gamespot’s Tamoor Hussain during Giant Bomb’s Game Mess Morning show, the next Mass Effect game may not release until 2029 or later.
