The First Berserker: Khazan Sales Were Below Expectations

During its recent earnings call, publisher Nexon revealed that The First Berserker: Khazan did not meet sales expectations. The Q1 revenue underperformed, but the publisher claimed the game succeeded in its plan to introduce the Dungeon & Fighter IP worldwide. “The game made its global debut on March 28 with strong ratings from both players and critics,” said Nexon in its earnings call. “While Q1 revenue was below our outlook, the game achieved our objective as a strategic first step in a multi-year plan to introduce Dungeon & Fighter IP to a global audience.”

The Dungeon & Fighter franchise has been around for a decade and has several games, including the most notable MMO title, Dungeon Fighter Online. However, new titles like the fighting game DNF Duel and now The First Berserker, which have several characters from the franchise, have made the franchise available worldwide.  The First Berserker: Khazan is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. In The First Berserker: Khazan, the player “will become the hero Khazan, the ancestor of all Slayers and the one who defeated Berserk Dragon Hismar, and proceed uncovering the truth of his downfall within the empire.”

The game’s details:

Khazan and Ozma, the heroes who saved Pelos Empire from the Berserk Dragon Hismar and the Dragon Legion. But General Khazan, falsely accused of treason, becomes a wretched outcast as he is condemned to exile beyond the empire through brutal torture.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a game which adapts the universe of Dungeon & Fighter (one of Nexon’s globally known intelectual property), dealing with the story of Ozma and Khazan.

The player will become the hero Khazan, the ancestor of all Slayers and the one who defeated Berserk Dragon Hismar, and proceed uncovering the truth of his downfall within the empire.
