The Division 2

The Division 2 Is The Best-Selling Game of 2019 So Far

During Ubisoft’s press conference at E3 2018, when the French publisher officially announced The Division 2, personally I’d never think the game could be 2019’s best-selling title for the Q1. But Ubisoft says it’s happened.

Despite having Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5, Rage 2 and Days Gone during Q1 2019, the winner of the first quarter of the year in terms of sales is The Division 2, Ubisoft’s co-op based third-person shooter that interestingly didn’t even meet the expectations of the publisher on consoles, but is now standing at the first place when it comes to the number of units of the game that are sold/shipped.

Ubisoft declared it officially during its first earnings call of fiscal year 2020. According to the publisher, the data is coming from some reliable sources like NPD, GSD, Gfk and Famitsu, which guarantees the first place for The Division 2 in worldwide sales.

Releasing the game exclusively on Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store also helped The Division 2 to experience a considerable amount of sales on PC. While Ubisoft didn’t specifically reveal the number of sales, it would be interesting to see which titles are standing behind The Division 2.

In other news, recently the director of The Division 2 asked fans on Twitter about a single-player story-focused spin-off of the series. Which could probably be the next title of the series under development or at least be a narrative-driven DLC for the current game.

The Division 2 is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
