Tekken 7 Adds DLC Character Noctis from Final Fantasy XV
Tekken 7 will add Final Fantasy XV protagonist Noctis Lucis Caelum as a playable character via downloadable content in spring 2018, Bandai Namco announced.
Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV enters the Tekken 7 ring! Wielding his signature Engine Blade, Noctis is ready to deal heavy hard-hitting blows as he takes on the likes of Yoshimitsu, Devil Jin, Jack 7, and the rest of the fighters when he enters the King of Iron Fist Tournament in spring 2018!
However, this is not the first character Bandai Namco will be introducing to Tekken 7 from another game franchise as the game already features Akuma from Street Fighter franchise, who is also part of the game’s narrative.
While the devs are introducing new characters to the game but, the developer has noted that adding new characters to the roster is not that easy since they have to consider the roster balance which might prevent new characters being added to the roster.
According to game director Katsuhiro Harada, the development team still wants to add new content to the game and adding new characters and meddling with the roster balance can potentially work against their goal.
He added that paid DLC will not be used to add new characters but, will add more special content to the game.
Tekken 7 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Check out the Trailer:
As you can see in the announcement trailer below, Noctis wields his trademark Engine Blade to do a lot of up-close-and-personal damage. He can also use magic. Additionally, you can see that there is also apparently a new Final Fantasy XV stage coming to Tekken 7 with Noctis.
People on Twitter are basically losing their minds over the announcement that Noctis is coming to Tekken 7. The announcement came less than a day after NetherRealm announced that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to Injustice 2 as DLC characters. People didn’t see that reveal coming, either.
