Tales of Arise Will Have an Open-World Feel, Says the Director

Premiered for the first time at E3 2019, Tales of Arise will be the next entry of the Tales series set in a different world and featuring a different scenario in order to welcome more players into the world of Tales.

Tales of Arise is supposed to be the next RPG from Bandai Namco after Code Vein which is getting released a few months later. While we haven’t had a glimpse on gameplay for Tales of Arise, the game’s director Yusuke Tomizawa did reveal some new details on the title during his latest interview.

According to Tomizawa, Tales of Arise doesn’t attempt to bring a whole new gameplay system to the series. The new entry will be loyal to what we’ve seen from the Tales franchise so far and will be bringing a traditional JRPG experience to the fans while featuring multiple different locations that imply an open-world feel to the players. Also, Tales of Arise will be using Encounter Method like the previous titles in the series.

It seems the core gameplay elements for the Tales series are presumably part of the new entry, though it’s expected to see some new features as well. However, the game is going to host a story that allows you to get into it without having a knowledge of the whole series. Alphen and Shionne are main protagonists of the game who are trying to save planet of Dahna.

Tales of Arise is set to launch in 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
