Tales of Arise Is Now Delayed Due to COVID-19

Bandai Namco has confirmed the delay of Tales of Arise, Yosuke Tomizawa, the produce of the game explains that due to technical limitations caused by COVID-19, a delay of the initial launch schedule was unavoidable.

Tomizawa reassures that Tales of Arise will launch with the highest level of graphical quality and is studio’s determination to launch a game that is worthy of the ‘Tales of’ name.

The goal for Tales of Arise is to provide a familiar but innovative gameplay experience to fans of the series, while pushing the technical envelope to deliver a high level of graphical quality to impress both long-time players and those who have never played a Tales Of game. Development on the title has moved steadily forward in 2020 as we overcame challenges along the way.

While COVID-19 has affected some aspects of development, we’ve done our best to adapt to the situation and have implemented remote development capabilities for our team.

However, we will need more time to achieve the quality and provide the gorgeous experience we envision for our players, and therefore we decided to delay the launch timing for Tales of Arise.

In the meantime, the determination of our development team has not weakened. It is always darkest before the dawn, as illustrated in the image below. We hope you will join us as a bring a new Tales Of adventure to light.

Tales of Arise, is the latest adventure in the long-running Tales of series, it was announced last week at E3 2019 in Los Angeles. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC.

Tales of Arise takes players on the role of a girl from the planet Rena, who is cursed with “Thorns”, which causes pain to anyone and everyone she touches. Alphen is a young man from the planet Dahna who feels no pain and bears no memories. Equipped with their own ideals and values, they band together and decide to fight for the freedom of Dahna.
